The Family's Story
Project Story
The Wynyard unit is a brilliant example of how smart design can create a massive sense of space on a shared block. This two-bedroom, two-bathroom home was the front unit built on a corner cul-de-sac block. We specifically designed the interior to have zero wasted space; by eliminating hallways and passages, the moment you walk through the front door you are greeted by an expansive, sun-drenched open-plan kitchen and living area featuring oversized sliding doors and windows.

How We Solved It
Straight Up About The Hard Parts. Proud Of The Result.
The Hard Parts
The Specific Challenges
Because this was the front unit on a shared block, the design required careful consideration to ensure the rear unit maintained clear, wide driveway access without sacrificing the front unit's privacy. The client also requested a completely zero-maintenance lifestyle.
The Result
Standout Achievements
We utilised a narrower, longer footprint and pushed the home further toward the front boundary, achieving a surprisingly large, fully enclosed private backyard while maintaining perfect separation. We also installed a retaining wall on the high side of the block prior to the build, resulting in a perfectly flat, carefree yard. The entire project was built from start to finish in a record time of just over 4 months.
“We were terrified of building after hearing horror stories from friends about budgets doubling and timelines blowing out. TCB Build was straight up with us from day one. The site was always spotless, the communication was clear, and they handed us the keys exactly when they said they would.”
