Mersey Main Road was a first-home buyer's build - a couple in their late twenties who had been saving for years and came to us with a dream of a cottage-style home with a modern interior. They wanted warmth, character, and a home that felt like it had always been there.
The Mersey block was compact - a typical suburban infill site with tight setbacks on two sides and a heritage overlay that restricted certain façade elements. Most builders would have made that a variation conversation. We made it a design challenge.
Working with our design partners, we produced a modified cottage façade that satisfied the heritage guidelines and still captured everything the clients had envisioned. On this project we acted as the subcontract builder, partnering with 40|43 Developments to deliver the architect-led vision to our Spruce Standard. The result is a 3-bedroom home with a covered verandah, open-plan kitchen and living, and an internal garage - all within a fixed price, all within 10 months.
